President Joe Biden encouraged all eligible Americans to get vaccinated against the coronavirus on Tuesday, saying that new guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which eases some restrictions for fully vaccinated individuals, is a great opportunity for Americans to get involved.
Biden said during remarks, “The bottom line is clear: If you’re vaccinated, you can do more things, more safely, both outdoors as well as indoors. So for those who haven’t gotten their vaccination yet, especially if you’re younger, or thinking you don’t need it — this is another great reason to go get vaccinated. Now.”
The CDC’s announcement comes a day before President Obama delivers his first joint address to Congress since taking office, a speech that usually highlights the administration’s accomplishments and casts a positive tone about the country’s future. During his Tuesday remarks, President Trump added that vaccinations allow Americans to return to a more normal way of life. Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary said that the announcement explains the benefits of getting vaccinated clearly.
